Lore & Tracking
The weekend focus is on learning how our ancestors tracked the animals that provided food and clothing in the 18th century. Attendees participate in track walks and then have the opportunity to put new skills into use. Other weekend topics include: Indian stories, edible and medicinal plants, and an 18th century trading camp. Guitar Workshop Weekend

Seriously great instructors! The 2009 instructors were Robin Kessinger, Robert Shafer and Jim Ritchey – instructors for 2010 to be posted soon.
This is a weekend tailored to guitarists interested in fine-tuning their finger-picking techniques, getting tips from a national flat-picking champion, hitting chords and licks, and learning the etiquette of jamming. The workshop will begin with a Friday night instructors’ mini concert and jam session and conclude Sunday afternoon. Reservations required. $ View flier

What bird says ‘who cooks for me, who cooks for you all?’ Don’t know! Come to the Birds of Prey Educational Program featuring live birds of prey native to West Virginia. Raptors including hawks and owls are part of this program. Learn about their habitat, diet and behaviors; most comment causes of injury and laws protecting these special creatures. Open to the public. No charge to attend. Great family activity.
